First Visit

What should I expect at my first visit?

Patients and their families should expect to be in the office for approximately 1.5 hours. This is because there is a mandatory waiting period after all testing, regardless of age. You should expect to see the provider, have your testing, and then see the provider to review and discuss results and treatment options. In most cases, all testing will be done the day of your visit.

What medications need to be stopped prior to testing?

Certain medications need to be stopped anywhere from 48 hours to 7 days prior to the visit because they will block the skin testing.

Should be stopped 3 days prior to your visit:

  • Alavert
  • Zyrtec
  • Benadryl
  • Loratadine
  • Claritin
  • OTC cold & sinus medication

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please be sure to bring any old records pertaining to your allergy history, insurance card, referral (if needed) and if you choose, you can decrease your waiting time by filling out the following 5 forms at home, and faxing them ahead or bringing them with you to your appointment:
